World Homeless Day\u00a0is observed internationally on the 10th of October, Every Year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purpose<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This international day serves as a platform to celebrate good works, benchmark progress, advocate for improved policies and funding that can help prevent and end homelessness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Homeless Day also aims to raise awareness about the needs of people who currently experience homelessness and promote work in local communities to alleviate suffering and prevent death. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ideas<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  1. Host a Housing & Homelessness Summit or Roundtable on or near the date<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Set Goals \/Benchmark Progress = by World Homeless Day next year, we aim to\u2026<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Celebrate what you have achieved since October 10th last year<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Announce Policy Change\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Repeal Laws that Criminalize aspects of Homelessness\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Host your Housing \/ Homelessness Conference near or on the date<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Launch a Fundraising Campaign\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Release Major Reports\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Disperse New Funds\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Host a Guest Speaker\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. Highlight Local Issues in the Media\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n

  16. Host a Health Clinic \/ Wellness Day\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  17. Hold a Public Rally \/ Protest (within local laws)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  18. Appoint a new Patron \/ Ambassador\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  19. Invite Politicians to visit your support service to \u2018Show and Tell\u2019 them about your work \/ needs\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  20. Host a Memorial for those who have Died While Homeless\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  21. Install a \u2018Pop-Up\u2019 Public Work of Art about Homelessness\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  22. Host a Workshop or Training Day on Homelessness for Emergency Responders \/ Health Care Workers \/ other service providers\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  23. Have a Collection of Goods & or Funds at your School & or Workplace & or Place of Worship for a local Charity\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  24. Have a \u2018Spring Clean\u2019 of your Clothing \/ Household Items \u2013 Donate them to Charity\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  25. Host an Educational \/ Experiential event like a Sleep-Out, Screening of a Film with a Speaker\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  26. Write to your local Politicians about a Policy you want Changed\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  27. Issue a City \/ Province \/ State or National Proclamation in recognition of the day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
