Liver Cancer Awareness Month
1 October – 31 October
Liver Cancer Awareness Month takes place every October. It highlights a serious disease that has grown rapidly in Ireland over the last decade.
In Ireland, about 370 people are diagnosed with primary liver cancer each year. Cases have surged by 300% over the last ten years. This rise is closely linked to chronic liver disease and cirrhosis (scarring of the liver).
The main goal of the month is to share how people can lower their risks and catch the disease early.
