World Kidney Cancer Day is celebrated around the world every year on the third Thursday of June by patients, carers, healthcare professionals and local organisations. Since it was established in 2017, it is a day dedicated to raising awareness of the local and global impact of kidney cancer, educating people about the disease, and making a difference in the lives of people affected by kidney cancer.

World Kidney Cancer Day 2026

Save the date! This year, World Kidney Cancer Day (WKCD) will be on 18 June 2026, marking the 10th year of raising awareness for kidney cancer worldwide!

The 2026 theme is Kidney Cancer and Emotional Wellbeing. Results from findings of the 2025 Global Patient Survey on Kidney Cancer show that 85% of kidney cancer patients experience emotional challenges, yet many never raise these issues with their care team. The 2026 WKCD campaign will aim to raise awareness and also help empower patients to seek the support they need.

While the details are being finalised, the WKCD 2026 campaign will feature an ‘Emotional Wellbeing Check In’ PDF for patients to complete and start conversations with their health teams. Materials will be available in 13 languages to encourage worldwide participation.
