SunSmart for Outdoor Workers

‘Why integrating UV protection into workplace practice is important’ an NCCP in person event for outdoor worker organisations. The National Cancer Control Prorgamme (NCCP) is hosting an in person event for outdoor worker organisations and those who work with outdoor workers.

The objectives for the event are to:

• Highlight the importance of UV protection in the workplace for outdoor workers.
• Educate employers and employees of the importance of multi-component approaches to UV protection in the workplace.
• Provide real life examples of the most effective and time efficient approaches to integrating safe UV practices into workplaces and provide best practice insights into how sustained change can be achieved.

This event offers a unique opportunity for outdoor worker organisations and those working with outdoor workers to learn about how to adopt comprehensive approaches to occupational sun protection for employees as it can be an effective way to increase outdoor workers use of sun protection and in turn reduce skin cancer rates in the outdoor worker industry.
